Knowledge Exchange and Engagement
Knowledge Exchange and Engagement
Central to our evaluation is a comprehensive programme of knowledge exchange activities that ensures input from our project partners and Opportunity Areas stakeholders throughout the research process, maximising policy relevance and practical utility.
Periphery Speaks Event Series
We have developed an ongoing series of ‘Periphery Speaks’ events across former Opportunity Areas locations, designed to give voice to communities and stakeholders who might otherwise by peripheral to policy discussions. Events held to date include:
- Derby: Our project launch brought together key stakeholders to explore initial findings and gather insights from those involved in programme delivery
- Bradford: This community-focussed gathering welcomed local organisations, schools, and community members to explore the ongoing challenges to young people’s social mobility in the area
These events are designed to welcome anyone who was involved in the Opportunity Areas programme – whether as education practitioners, young people, board members, local authority representatives or community members – to explore lasting legacies and ongoing impacts within local contexts. They provide platforms for authentic community voices and grassroots perspectives, while fostering continued dialogue around educational equity and social mobility.
Stay tuned for more information on upcoming events.
